WHAT IS THE GOOD NEWS READING PLAN
The Good News Bible reading plan is adapted by one compiled by Scottish preacher Robert Murray M’Cheyne (1813-1843.) It is a two-year reading plan that will allow you to read the New Testament and Psalms once every year and the Old Testament once every two years. The Good News two-year Bible reading plan is available online calvarysj.org, in print at the info booth and on the CalvarySJ app
HOW TO GET STARTED
Pick up a copy of The Good News reading plan from the Good News Booth at church, download your copy above, or access it through the YouVersion or CalvarySJ app.
Then simply begin by reading the assigned sections of the Bible for today’s date on the plan; the Psalms and Proverbs readings are an added bonus. The Good News reading plan will guide you through the Old Testament, the New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs, giving you a greater grasp of Scripture.
If you choose to read along using the Calvary San Jose app, you can take advantage of features such as selecting your preferred translation and having the daily Scripture selections read aloud—perfect for listening in your car.
Sunday Morning Teaching - Pastor Mike teaches through a selected chapter from the previous week’s reading, connecting it with the overall flow of the book and its historical context.

CALVARY@HOME FELLOWSHIPS
Our home fellowships encourage people to read together in groups and to make what we’re reading and learning a focal point for fellowship with one another. There will also be opportunities for discussion about the chapter and what we’ve read each week.
CHURCH UNITY
The whole congregation will be reading through the Bible together, focusing on the same portion of Scripture at the same time. We will be united and strengthened as we reflect on the same promises, mourn the same confessions, praise God with the same songs, and be abundantly nourished by the same words of eternal life.
HOME UNITY
Parents, couples, friends and family will have an opportunity for great conversations on the same reading, gleaning from one another. Every member in the family can give meaning, insight or draw out simple questions and answers. Great conversations will be taking place when you meet with family and friends.
